I've been to Gil's in Burnt Hills before, but this was the 1st time I took my vehicle to the Halfmoon Shop. I took my 2008 Nissan Rogue in to have the passenger side CV Axle replaced. It was making a noise that sounded like bearings rolling around (due to the CV Boot being ripped and there being no fluid left inside). I dropped my vehicle off in the morning, and it was finished mid-afternoon. I picked the car up, and on my drive home I noticed the noise was still there. I called Gil's back and explained that I was still hearing the noise and they promptly got me in the next day to take a look at the vehicle. A tech and I took the car out for a drive so that they could get see exactly what I was describing to them in terms of the noise. After some inspection, they found that there was a shield near the Drive Axle that had come loose somehow. They made sure the shield was back in place, and took the vehicle out on a test drive to make sure the noise had stopped. I returned later that day to pick up my vehicle, and there was no charge for the second repair. They resolved the issue of the noise. All in all, it was an excellent experience. The staff were friendly, and even offered to drive me back to work on that second day (I dropped the car off on my lunch break). In my opinion, the rates are fair. Gil's offers a 2 year/24,000 mile warranty on all parts and labor. Which if you ask me...is awesome. Most places don't do that. I'm pretty sure the big box stores like Midas and Monroe don't do that, plus they're going to charge you 10x more than Gil's does. I highly recommend taking your vehicle to Gil's, and will most definitely tell everyone I know to go there for any repairs they need done.
