The outer button on my trunk broke. It became disconnected and slid to the right with no way to slip it back into place; therefore, now leaving a ‘hole’ and exposing it to the elements - rain, road salts, and car washes - which would have caused more damage on the inside. Called Gil’s Garage in Halfmoon that day to make an appointment to have them fix it. They were able to get me in within a few days; luckily, I didn’t need to drive my car until then since we had rain and lots of road spray during those days. Left my car on appointment day and when they called later I was informed that they had contacted multiple places to obtain just the button and bracket on the inside that holds the button and they were told it was going to cost between $1200 and $1500 because they would have to replace the entire inner panel!!! Undaunted, Gil’s Garage staff was not about to have a customer of theirs pay that amount of money … just for a button and bracket. Since it was just the bracket on the inside that had rusted through, they decided to see if they could make a new inside bracket. The button itself was undamaged. And they did; and the cost was SIGNIFICANTLY less than a whole panel; and my final cost (well under $100) was again SIGNIFICANTLY less than the initial estimate to do the work (which was around $150). So glad I called Gil’s!!! Gil’s looks out for their customers!!! Been going there for many years, and will continue to do so. Thank you to the staff at Gil’s!!! You Rock!!!!!!!
